The Journey
Nashon lives in the heart of the Kibera slums in a 10×10 foot room made of rusted tin sheets. In this tiny space, a family of six navigates life on a combined income of roughly $2 per day. Having lost his biological mother at the age of seven to cancer, Nashon has transformed his grief into a quiet, relentless resolve to succeed.
Despite the extreme noise and heat of his environment, Nashon has achieved the remarkable: he is a top-ten student at Olympic Junior School. His stellar performance earned him a placement at a prestigious National High School to pursue a STEM pathway, but the cost of fees remains a barrier his family cannot overcome alone.
The Vision
Nashon dreams of becoming a Doctor. Driven by the loss of his mother, he wants to return to his community as a healer, specifically seeking to work in oncology to help others suffering from the disease that impacted his childhood. He is also a talented artist and a leader on the football pitch, proving himself to be a well-rounded and disciplined young man.
Immediate Need
Nashon is a “diamond in the rough” who has already proven his academic brilliance despite having no quiet place to study. He was selected for the 2026 pilot program to provide a “bridge” out of the slums. Your sponsorship will move Nashon into a focused boarding environment at Thika Boys, ensuring his path to medical school remains open and his potential is fully realized.
