The Journey
Christopher’s education is a daily test of endurance. Living in a flood-prone area of rural Kisumu, he walks 8 kilometers every day to reach his classroom—often wading through floodwaters during the rainy season. After losing his father at age eight, he was raised by his aging grandmother in a crowded mud-walled home, while his mother works irregular jobs in the Nairobi slums to survive.
Despite studying by the light of a kerosene lamp and lacking basic school fees, Christopher has emerged as one of the top scholars in his district. He is a disciplined leader, an active member of his church youth group, and a standout athlete in football and handball.
The Vision
Christopher dreams of becoming an Engineer. Having lived through the infrastructure failures of his village, he wants to design bridges and roads that connect his community to opportunity rather than washing away in the rain.
Immediate Need
Christopher was chosen for the 2026 pilot program because of his unmatched resilience. Your sponsorship allows him to transition into a stable boarding environment, ending his 8km daily trek and providing the resources this brilliant young leader needs to build a future for himself and Kenya.
